Concetto by Saveur and FATCAT Ice Cream Bar Cafe [REVIEW]

hola amigos.
Today i'll be doing a food review on Concetto by Saveur & FATCAT cafe. I've always wanted to try out concetto's food ever since I watched the clicknetwork's foodporn episode hehe. As for FATCAT cafe, it was the excited bud bud who introduced and brought me there.

I love their interior btw!!!
MENU.
peekture time

Shirley Temple Mocktail -- Grenadine Syrup, Sprite & Lime Juice $3
We were caught between getting this or the homemade ice lemon tea as it was the same price haha, but decided to try this since we've never tried this before and I love trying out new stuffs. This drink its rather refreshing tho a lil on the sweet side, overall 6/10 would love to try out the lemon tea on my next visit!
Duck Tortellini -- Ingot-shaped pasta filled with shredded duck confit and ricotta cheese; served with sous-vide egg, new potato and parmesan emulsion $12.90
This dish definitely captured my attention because of the foam and poached egg, who doesn't love poached eggs right????? Initially I found the fillings of the pasta a tad too savory but afterwards I realize it was actually satisfactory bc the pasta itself had no taste to it (obviously) and I loveeeee how the egg yolk goes with the shredded duck confit. Overall, loved it so 8/10!!
Beef Oyster Blade -- beef shoulder blade; cooked for 36 hours; served with baby carrots, coffee soil and carrot puree $15.90
This dish was DA BOMB. I repeat myself DA BOMB DIGGITY BOMB.
Okay, where do I begin? The beef was oh so tender, literally melt-in-the-mouth. And this picture definitely don't do enough justice for the food. Already craving for more after I was done with it omg… NEED. TO. GO. BACK. FOR. MORE. If any of you visits this restaurant please try this!!!! No regrets hehe. I'd rate it a whooping 10/10 :P
Funghi Risotto -- Arborio rice cooked in mushroom broth & mixed mushrooms; served with enoki tempura, thinly sliced king oyster mushroom & red wine pickled shallots $10.90
I've never tried risotto but this wasn't too bad, just that the rice could be cooked longer, overall this dish was creamy and a lot of textures were involved, love the fried enoki btw!! Adds a good crunch to the pasta hehe. At first i thought that 4 strips of mushroom was like cheese or sth omg, then i was like "OH MUSHROOM….INTERESTING" This dish didn't exactly blow me away as much as the previous one did, perhaps I should've tried the chef recommended crab risotto instead? Anyways! Overall would be a 6/10, would love to give the other risotto a try the next time round.
Tiramisu -- a la-minute composed; homemade sponge, mascarpone cream, tanariva chocolate mousse $10.90
A sweet-ending to all the dishes. No matter how full I am after the main course, there is always room for desserts, always. Anyone feel me hahaha. Okay I'm like a huge fan of tiramisu so this was gooooood, and unique! The mascarpone cream wasn't too overly sweet and like nauseating, the sponge soaked in coffee was good, putting everything together, one of each component on the little dessert spoon was delish!! A 9/10, this dessert appealed to me more than the others on the menu tbh haha.
OH and btw, they're having a 1-for-1 student promotion for mains now!

CONCETTO BY SAVEUR

On to FATCAT cafe! This cafe was actually a pretty long walk (15mins) from the mrt but it was worth it bc burning off even the tiniest bit of calories before stuffing our faces with desserts makes me feel better :P Anyway, if you don't reside in the east or sth, please use google maps just in case haha.
They offer different desserts daily so there is actually no fixed menu!
Hot Chocolate $4
Hmm, how do I put it.. The drink was rich and lightly sweetened at the same time, which was just the way I liked my hot cocoa. *hearts emoji* So if you aren't a coffee person, try ordering this! Otherwise I think their coffee would be pretty amazing too (-:

Marshmallow Dessert -- Lime marshmallows with apple (??) crumble topped with lemon sherbet; pomelo infused foam and basil sauce $9 (I wrote this description according to what the staff told me so apologies if I got anything mixed up!!)
At first I found it to be a little pricey but after eating it, it's like TOTALLY worth it. Shared the portion with the buddy so the damage (to both wallet and body) wasn't all that bad HAHA. This is actually the first time I've tasted LEGIT marshmallow, not the ones you buy at your local grocery store; in packages that you use for BBQ. These are really the melty marshmallows that is realllllly addictive. (or at least to me) Was really surprised by the components and plating done. When I ordered it I honestly just expected to have 4 little marshmallows in a bowl or sth. Giving it a 9/10, must-try!

Charcoal Waffles -- $6 (Ice cream $4.5/scoop)
Tried flavors like Hay & Honey and also Butter Beer before deciding on this two flavors. I found the butter beer really beer-ish (duh) though I've never had beer in my life. Bud says the beer one tasted surprisingly good to her but for me… hmm, not a beer person. The hay & honey, however, tasted really nice. I can't really describe it but it's just sweet and fragrant.
We opted for the Earl Grey Lavendar & Pistachio in the end anyway. The earl grey lavender smelled really good, but i guess it tasted mediocre. On the other hand, the pistachio one was amazing, really. I could taste like the nutty flavor and wasn't too sweet. My verdict? 8/10 - go try it! ^^
Watermelon Soju Sphere $4.5
I guess this cafe is quite famous for this sphere-ish looking dessert. I didn't try this tho but Joce did. She wanted the Mojito one more but they didn't have it that day omg :( But she told me this was pretty good too and the fillings just burst in the mouth. To me it really resembles an egg yolk, and believe it or not, I was so tempted to just use my fork to burst it :P
